How do students monitor their own progress?
Students will benefit from seeing how they are progressing through the MathFactLab levels and how well they performed on placement tests and level lifters. They can also see their current level within the program whenever they wish when they are on a 'Select Your Next Activity' page. A printed copy of the Progress Table may also be helpful as students track their progress through the levels.

Placement Test Progress Table
After completing the placement test, students are shown a progress table that displays their assigned level within the program. The table uses color coding: green indicates the levels of facts they have already mastered, blue highlights the facts they will focus on in their current level, and gray represents the levels they have yet to complete.
Students will not see which questions they answered correctly and the number of seconds it took to answer each question. Teacher and administrators can see this information if they wish. This document explains how teachers and administrators can find the Placement Test reports.
Level Lifter Reports
Level Lifters assess a students progress after they have practiced the strategies available on their current level. If a student passes, they receive a 'Congratulations' message. In this case, they won't see their Level Lifter Report.
If a student does not pass, they are shown their Level Lifter report to help them see what progress they still need to make. Unlike the teacher version, student Level Lifter reports do not provide the response rate in seconds. Rather, their responses are placed in three categories: Correct response, fluent; Correct response, not yet fluent; and Incorrect response.
Seeing their Current Level
When students are on a 'Select Your Next Activity' page they will be able to see their current level by clicking on the 'See Your Level' button.
Printed Progress Tables
It may be helpful to have printed copies of all the MathFactLab levels available to help students monitor their progress.
To download a PDF version of MathFactLab’s Addition/Subtraction and Multiplication/Division (both Basic through Advanced and Super-Advanced & Super-Duper-Advanced ) Progress Tables:
- Start on the Students tab. You can be on either the Informative or the Performance view.
- Click on the Actions dropdown menu.
- Choose 'View Progress table'.
You can choose to view either of the learning modes by using the 'Select learning mode' menu.
- To download both versions of the Progress Table click on the download icon in the bottom left corner.
- The downloaded PDF will have three tables, the addition/subtraction levels and both the basic through advanced and the super-advanced & super-duper-advanced multiplication/division levels.
- Your PDF reader should have a printing option.
Teachers can also download a version of these tables that students can color. Students can keep track of their progress by coloring in each level they master. Or they may want to use their own color coding system to indicate their confidence at each level.
You could also share a digital version of the tables rather than printing them for your students.
