Filtering Students and Classes
This document is intended for teachers and administrators using district or school subscriptions, not those using individual teacher plans.
Administrators and teachers can use filters to identify specific students or classes. There are no filtering options for schools, sub-admins or teachers. Administrators may filter students by their school, grade, class or the tags that may have been assigned to them. Teachers will have the same student filtering choices except will not see a 'Schools' option.
Filtering can be done using multiple fields, For example, an admin or teacher may use two filters to display all the third graders with the tag 'Fearless Learners'.
Classes can be filtered by their school, grade level and assigned tags. Again, filtering can be done on more than one field. Teachers won't see 'Schools' as a filtering choice and those with only a single class will not see a filtering tool when they are on the Classes tab.
Filtering Students:
- Begin on the Students tab.
- You may use either the Informative of the Performance view.
- Click on the Filter button
- In the Filters window use the Schools, Grades, Tags and Classes drop-down menus to select the variables you wish to use for this filtering session.
You can use one or more of these variable at the same time. If you choose to filter by school you will only see the classes from that school available in the Classes filter drop-down menu.
Every student in MathFactLab will have been assigned a school and class. Grades and tags are optional data fields, however, and will only be usefully when filtering if students these have been assigned those data fields.
- Click on the 'Apply Filter' button.

The green number on the Filter button indicates the number of filters being used. Hovering on the number will reveal a pop-up windows showing the filters currently enabled. Clicking on the circled red X will clear all the filters.
You can change the filters by clicking on the Filter button and removing, changing or adding additional filters. Choose 'Apply Filter' to confirm these changes. The Clear All button removes all filters.

- Choose the Schools, Grade levels or Tags you want to use as filters. You may use more than one filter.
- Click on the 'Apply Filter' button.
