Planned Updates for 2025-2026

In our efforts to constantly improve MathFactLab and make it the world's best fact fluency program, we have many platform enhancements in store for the upcoming school year.

A Gentler, More Effective Path to Success for Students

Students will climb to the same heights, but the path's slope will be more gradual.

  • To better match grade-level standards, our basic addition/subtraction fact program will be divided into three stages: Within 5, Within 10, and Within 20.
  • The number of basic addition/subtraction levels will increase from 10 to 18, reducing the average number of fact families to be mastered per level from 6.6 to 3.7.
  • The number of basic multiplication/division levels will increase from 11 to 17, reducing the average number of fact families to be mastered per level from 6.1 to 3.9.
  • Students will be able to pass half of a Level Lifter. If students pass one section of a Level Lifter but not the other, when returning to that level, they will only need to practice the operation not passed.

Better Reporting

Teacher, admins, students and parents will be better informed of activity and progress.

  • Parent reports: This has been something missing from MathFactLab. Teachers will be able to generate reports for parents, showing their child's level of fluency, their progress their and which facts to practice at home.
  • To help students better track their efforts, student dashboards will show work completion over the course of the week.
  • The Students tab will more clearly show recent student activity, growth and fluency percentage.
  • Usage Stats will provide significantly greater daily reporting details, including the number of problems solved and activities completed, accuracy percentage, and fluency percentage.
  • Usage Stats will also provide a group-view mode, showing a one line summary of student progress over any selected period of time.

Other Updates on the Way

  • Better teacher training: We will be offering dedicated teacher training led by a teacher with many years of experience as an elementary school technology integrationist.
  • Spanish will be available for students.
  • Whoopsies will be changed to Passing Percentage, making passing requirements more easily understood.
  • Teachers/Admins will have more ability to hide strategies not familiar to their students.
  • Students will be able to resume partially completed practice activities and Level Lifters.
  • Make 5 and Make 10 activities will be incorporated into the basic addition/subtraction levels, reinforcing these essential foundational skills.
  • Checklist Challenge: This will be an optional group game that will energize MathFactLab sessions by allowing friendly competitions between groups or classes, or by allowing classes to work collectively towards a goal.
  • For middle schools, we are building a strategy-based approach to integer operations, which we expect to begin offering sometime this fall.
  • Progress monitoring is also in the works; no delivery date available yet.
