The Reset Button
It is important that students are working at a level that is challenging but within their capacity to be successful. The Placement Test is a useful tool for placing each student at that optimum level. For returning students, we strongly recommend resetting those students at the start of the school year. You may also wish to reset students after long breaks or extended periods of inactivity. Students who are new to MathFactLab are automatically given the placement test the first time they log into the program.
The Reset Button clears each selected student's current level assignments and reassigns them to the placement test. No data is lost.
To activate the Reset Button:
- Select the students by either clicking the top checkbox or by selecting individual student checkboxes.
- Click on the Reset button.
- In the confirmation window choose "Yes, reset all selected students."
Reset students will be assigned to the placement test. Their performance on the placement test will determine the level where they will then be placed.
To reduce the likelihood that students are accidentally reset more than once, if some/all of the selected students have been reset in the past 45 days, you will receive a warning to make sure you wish to continue.
Resetting does not change the students' learning mode, fluency rate, passing percentage, or other previous setting.
