The New School Year Start Date

The New School Year Start Date feature automatically transitions your account to the upcoming school year. On the date you select, MathFactLab will begin collecting data for the new school year while keeping the previous school year’s data separate and available for reference.

This process is separate from rostering students and classes for the new school year.

The feature applies to all MathFactLab School and District Plan accounts. Teacher Plan accounts are not affected.

The Initial Setup - When school/district super-administrators log into their MathFactLab accounts after their 2025-26 accounts have expired, they will see a pop-up with instructions on selecting a start date for the upcoming school year. To complete this process, they will:

Select a start date from the calendar provided.

Choose their school year format.

Acknowledge an understanding that, on that start date, student dashboards will be reset and placement tests will be required.
To complete the process, they will need to click on the Confirm start date button.

Changing the Start Date

A school or district Super-Administrator has the option to change a rollout date up to 24 hours before that scheduled date. To make that change:

The administrator will log into their MathFactLab account and click on their name in the top right corner.
In the drop-down menu, they will select Account Settings.

In that menu, they may change the Start Date and/or the School year format.
They must click on the Save button to confirm this change.

Reminders - Starting 14 days before the start date, all district users, including super admins, sub-admins, and teachers, will see an informational banner reminding them of the upcoming start date. The staff member can click on the Dismiss button to prevent subsequent pop-ups.

On the scheduled start date, MathFactLab will automatically initiate the new school year.

Student dashboard levels will be reset, and students will be prompted to complete a new placement test the next time they log in. Rosters and class assignments will not be affected, and data from the previous school year will remain easily accessible.
