Changing a Student's Level
MathFactLab places students at a level based on their Placement Test results. However, for a number of reasons, a teacher may decide that a student should be at a different level. Adjusting a student’s level is quick and simple, and can be done at any time.
Teachers also have the option to skip the Placement Test entirely and place a student directly at the level they feel is most appropriate.
Here are the steps for changing a student's level:
- Select the Students tab. You can use either the Informative or Performance side.
- Click the Edit Student icon on the line of the student whose level you wish to change. You'll find this in the 'Actions' column.
- In the Edit Student window, you can change the level for either or both of the learning modes.
- Make sure you click on the Save button after you make your choices.
If you think a student is ready to move up a level, you can always unlock the Level Lifter for the student or give the student a Level Lifter Interview. (Click the three dots on the student's row to find these options.) That way, you can be more confident about moving the student up.
