Changing a Student's Level

MathFactLab places students at a level based on their Placement Test results. However, for a number of reasons, a teacher may decide that a student should be at a different level. Adjusting a student’s level is quick and simple, and can be done at any time.

Teachers also have the option to skip the Placement Test entirely and place a student directly at the level they feel is most appropriate.

Here are the steps for changing a student's level:

  1. Select the Students tab. You can use either the Informative or Performance side.
  2. Click the Edit Student icon on the line of the student whose level you wish to change.  You'll find this in the 'Actions' column.

  1. In the Edit Student window, you can change the level for either or both of the learning modes.
  2. Make sure you click on the Save button after you make your choices.

If you think a student is ready to move up a level, you can always unlock the Level Lifter for the student or give the student a Level Lifter Interview.  (Click the three dots on the student's row to find these options.) That way, you can be more confident about moving the student up.
