Resending Teacher Invitations and Resetting Passwords
This guide is for administrators of school or district accounts using manual rostering, not schools using Clever or ClassLink integration.
Resending an Invitation
After you have created teacher accounts, either with our without using CSV files, you may occasionally have a teacher who didn't join MathFactLab when they received their invitation. This might happen for a number of reasons, such as an invitation being missed because it went into the teacher's spam folder. An administrator can easily resend the invitation to the teacher by following the steps below. A teacher invitation should go out immediately so it may be helpful to alert the teacher you are resending their invitation so they can monitor their inbox and check their spam folder if it doesn't arrive shortly.
Follow these steps to resend an invitation
- Begin on the Teachers tab.
- Locate the teacher who has not responded to their invitation and click on the Resend link.
- You should see a verification message at the top of the screen that the invitation has been sent successfully.
The teacher should receive an invitation like this in their email to Join MathFactLab.
After responding to the invitation the teacher's status will change to 'Accepted' in the administrator's dashboard.
Resetting a Teacher's Password
If a teacher is not able to remember their MathFactLab password an administrator can reset it. The teacher will receive an email with a link that will allow them to choose a new password.
To reset a teacher's password:
- Click on the Teachers tab.
- Locate the teacher who needs their password reset and click on the 'Reset' link. Teachers who have not accepted their invitation to join MathFactLab will not have this Reset option.
- You should see a confirmation message that this action has taken place at the top of the screen.
The teacher should receive a password reset invitation similar to this one.
Clicking on the link in the password reset email will take them to this screen where that can choose a new password.
The teacher can also initiate a password reset themselves by clicking on the 'Forgot password?' link on the MathFactLab login screen.
